The Gratitude Project - Day 10

Today, the kids and I went for our weekly trip to our homeschool co-op. Our homeschool group has had a co-op in effect for a few years now, but this is our first year to join.

We decided to participate this year, because Little Sister REALLY needed some time to play with other friends her age each week! She REALLY needed an outing! And Little Sister LOVES it! In fact, she was really disappointed today to hear that next week would be our last week before starting our 2 month winter break. She has completely enjoyed every minute of every day that we spend there.

Another benefit of doing co-op is that the oldest 2 are able to take several classes that I just don't have time to teach them at home. For example, Britches is taking a chemistry class, something she has asked me for YEARS to teach her, from my friend, Penny. I am so thankful that Penny decided to teach that class this year! And Little Man is having a blast in all his art classes, especially "Draw Write Now," taught by my other friend, Linda. That is his favorite class, I think!

I am so very thankful that we decided to join this year. I have met so many great ladies, and have gotten to know some of them better. I am really thankful for the friendships that I have made.

I am really thankful that I have a chance to get out of my own four walls each week, so I can go do something different! If you don't stay home 24/7 with your kids, you probably can't fully appreciate that. But it is SO needed!

And I am thankful that, several years ago, some ladies got together to work out all the details of how to make this co-op run smoothly, so I am able to participate with no problems.

I am also very thankful for all the moms who work very hard teaching my kids each week, the moms who help in classes, and the moms who clean up after us all. And I think what I am most thankful for are the ladies in the toddler room and in the four year old class! Thanks to Terri L. and Donna G., I am able to have a break for a day from running after my little ones and finding something to entertain them. Thanks to both of you girls! You have no idea how very much I appreciate you both!

  1. We are so glad that you guys joined co-op too! I'm enjoying to get to know you (and your wonderful kids) and be able to have lunch with you every week. I wish we had more time to visit!! I'm also glad that Colby likes my class. He does such a wonderful job in there!
